Description

This article explains the partitioning for Resilient Dual-Root feature on an XRE200 in an EX8208 Virtual Chassis.

Symptoms

When users try to perform the snapshot operation on the virtual-chassis stack, the following error occurs on external REs:

Solution

External Routing-engines do not have dual-silent partitions. Instead, they work in a primary/standby fashion. There is no boot loader upgrade required and there is no jloader for XRE200. Hence, there is no chassis firmware command on the XRE200.

The external routing engines do not support dual root partitioning.  

There is no jloader version for XREs on the EX8200 virtual-chassis.
