Description

This article addresses the following:

  1. How to get Software Serial Number (SSN) from vSRX.

  2. What differences will there be in SSN if the license is generated using  LMS or JAL (Juniper Agile license)?

  3. What is the impact of license renewal through JAL that was originally generated through LMS ?

Symptoms

After renewing a license through JAL, which was originally generated through LMS, 5 more alpha numeric characters are added to the SSN. This may cause auto update to fail.

Solution

The Software Serial Number (SSN) can be obtained with the command, 'show system license' .
