Two options are available for password recovery on the NFX250 platform:
JDM password recovery
USB clean install of NFX
This article provides an example of performing the password recovery procedure on the NFX250 platform that is running Junos OS Release 15.1X53 via JDM.

If you are using the NFX250-Next Gen software (nfx-3 software), refer to Recovering the Root Password for NFX150, NFX250 NextGen, and NFX350 Devices .
Note: For JDM password recovery, set system password-recovery should be enabled in the JDM configuration for root password recovery.

Power cycle the NFX device.
Press and hold the Down arrow when the system asks to press " Esc " as shown below, until you see the screenshot shown in step 3:
Select Juniper Linux Debug:
Keep pressing Enter until you get to the screenshot below:
Select the "Reset JDM root password" option from the options given:
Enter the new password and the system will then ask for a reboot. Select to reboot the device.
Now JDM will be accessible with the new password that was set in step 6.
Note: To reset the JCP password, log in from JDM to JCP by using jdm-sysuser without a password. See KB32269 - [NFX] SSH to vJUNOS0 using root username requires password [juniper.net] for more information.
