This article explains the correct path in which the Device Management Interface (DMI) Schema must be created.

Symptoms

When uploading a manual DMI schema file, the following error message is seen on the Junos Space WebUI:

Note: This issue is ONLY seen when manually creating the Schema file to Junos Space.

Solution

This occurs because the correct directory structure is not created when downloading the schema from the SVN repository.

The DMI Schema must be created in the following path on the local system:

dmi\deviceFamily\releases\osVersion\

Example steps:

  1. Download the DMI schema for SRX version - 12.3X48-D21.1 file on the Desktop.

  2. Then create the following paths under C:\ before starting the DMI Schema download:

    C:\Users\ <Username> \Desktop\dmi\junos-es\releases\12.3X48-D21.1\

  3. Once these are created, start the download of the DMI Schema file from the SVN repository using this location for the Checkout Directory as given below.

  4. When the file is downloaded, tar the folder "dmi" using 7zip and upload it to the Junos Space.

    The upload should work now.
