This article describes a commit failure with the error message "error: syntax error: notify-rpd" on EX9200-VC-Standalone devices. This issue is due to the different Junos OS versions running on the Routing Engines. You can resolve this issue by upgrading RE1 to the a similar Junos OS code as RE0.

This is due to different Junos OS versions running on the REs.

You will not be able to view the Junos OS version of RE1 in both member 0 and member 1.
Use the following commands to check the Junos OS version on RE1.
Try to log in to RE1 and note the Junos OS version.
