Description

vSRX instances may exhibit the following behaviors after powering the instance after adding new vNIC. 

  • Incomplete bootup of Junos after loading Wind River Linux Kernel
  • Completed bootup with PFE remaining in offline state
  • Completed bootup with PFE online but does not reflect expected newly added interfaces

Symptoms

Solution

This is due to use of an unsupported vNIC type while adding additional interfaces to the vSRX.

While adding interfaces 4 to 8 or 8 to 10, ensure that the correct vNIC type is selected. For the procedure to add more interfaces in vSRX and supported vNIC types, refer to the following link:
