Description

This article provides information on how to access the VM, e.g. FC-0, when it is not present in the QFabric inventory. This will allow one to verify and check logs on the VM and troubleshoot.

Symptoms

The VM, e.g. FM-0 or FC-0, crashed and is not accessible via IP from the DG shell or request component login from the CLI.

The VM is not present or shows as disconnected in show fabric administration inventory:

Solution

The VM can be access via a serial connection as follows:

  1. Check the serial ID and on which DG the VM is present. In the case of FC-0 (_DCF_default___RR-INE-0_RE0_), this is DG0 and the serial is " 15013 ".

[root@dg0 ~]# ccif_vm_ports
TAG NODE PID SERIAL MONITOR VNC ACTIVE
_TAG_DRE_ dg1 17189 15010 20010 10 1
_TAG_DCF_ROOT_RE1_ dg1 5381 15009 20009 9 1
_TAG_DCF_ROOT_RE0_ dg0 26272 15010 20010 10 1
_DCF_default___NW-INE-0_RE0_ dg1 23583 15007 20007 7 1
_DCF_default___RR-INE-0_RE0_ dg0 20773 15013 20013 13 1
_DCF_default___NW-INE-0_RE1_ dg0 5786 15012 20012 12 1
_DCF_default___RR-INE-1_RE0_ dg1 7786 15013 20013 13 1

  • Telnet to the VM as follows:

[root@dg0 ~]# telnet dg0 15013
Trying 1.1.1.1...
Connected to dg0 (1.1.1.1).
