This article explains supported port speed combinations on MIC-3D-8OC3OC12-4OC48, and how to use the no-multi-rate configuration to enable 4 x OC48.
What port speeds are supported on the MIC-3D-8OC3OC12-4OC48, and how do I use the no-multi-rate configuration to enable 4 x OC48?
The 8-Port SONET/SDH OC3/STM1 (Multi-Rate) MIC with SFP (MIC-3D-8OC3OC12-4OC48) supports OC3/STM1, OC12/STM4 and OC48/STM16. The default operation of the MIC supports multiple speeds across all eight ports. All ports support OC3 and OC12. OC48 speeds are supported on ports 0 and 1 in the default multi rate mode. OC48 is also supported on ports 2 and 3 by disabling multi-rate mode. The MIC supports a maximum of 4 x OC48. When 4 x OC48 is configured, the last four ports (4 - 7) are disabled. The MIC supports SDH as well. Substitute STM1 for OC3, STM4 for OC12 and STM16 for OC48 as needed.
