Powering on/off the SRX1400, SRX3400, and SRX3600 devices is covered in the following technical documentation:
Powering Off the SRX1400 Services Gateway

This article provides an additional method via the Command Line Interface (soft method) and clarifies some behavior differences with Junos OS.
Depending on how an SRX device was turned off, there are different ways to turn it back on correctly. How does a user know which one to use?
There are two methods to turn off an SRX1400/3400/3600 Series device: a soft method (CLI) and a hard method (power button and power cable).
request system halt
request system power-off
Prior to 11.4R10, 12.1X44-D25, 12.1X45-D20, and 12.1X46-D10, the " power-off " CLI works identically to the " halt " CLI command. Per PR880619 , the " power-off " CLI is enhanced to trigger the shutdown process of the hardware component.

Press and hold the power button (SRX3K - SFB card/SRX1K -SYSIOC card). The power button stops the system software and powers off the chassis. The power button is located on the SFB card of the SRX3000 and the SYSIOC card of the SRX1400 devices. Pressing and holding down the power button triggers the shutdown process of hardware components.
Note : To turn on the power again after this kind of shutdown, you must press and hold down the power button.
Unplug the power cable. This action cuts off power to the device. It does not change the power state of the hardware.
The power state of the hardware must be taken into account when turning on the power again: If the power state of the hardware is ON , the cable must be plugged back in again in order to turn on the device. If the power state of the hardware is OFF , the power button must be pressed and held in order to turn on the device.
