The article explains why the 8-Port Gigabit Ethernet SFP XPIM may not be detected on SRX550 and SRX650 services gateway devices.

Symptoms

The 8-Port Gigabit Ethernet SFP XPIM is not detected on SRX550 and SRX650 devices.

Solution

The 8-Port Gigabit Ethernet SFP XPIM is probably inserted in the wrong slot. When that happens, the card is not detected.

Insert the 8-Port Gigabit Ethernet SFP XPIM into the correct slot on the services gateway.

The 8-Port Gigabit Ethernet XPIM must be installed in one of the following 10-Gigabit or 20-Gigabit GPIM (Gigabit Backplane Physical Interface Module) slots on the services gateway:

  • SRX550 Services Gateway—Slot 3 or 6

  • SRX650 Services Gateway—Slot 2 or 6

The earliest supported release of the 8-Port Gigabit Ethernet XPIM is Junos OS Release 12.1X44-D10.
