This article announces the discontinuation of the Junos AppDDoS feature of AppSecure and the recommended replacement for the product.
Application-level distributed denial of service, which is used to identify malicious bot clients and to drop or deny traffic if requests exceed configured thresholds, will be deprecated from Junos OS 12.1X47 onwards. As a replacement product for this feature, we recommend that you migrate to the Juniper DDoS Secure product line. Juniper DDoS Secure is a separate hardware platform. The Junos DDoS Secure product is the recommended replacement for the Junos AppDDoS feature of the High-End SRX. The Junos DDoS Secure product employs a dynamic and self-learning approach as one of its key features.
