Description

EX Series switch with NSR enabled, will not disable the default graceful-restart (GR) helper mode. The same has been tested and proved in the following section.

NSR is enabled on EX8200VC
GR is enabled on EX4200VC for OSPFv2 and OSPFv3
Vlan - V100 is configured for layer-3 on EX4200VC and EX8200VC
On EX4200VC, V100 - 10.0.0.2 , 2000::2, Lo0 - 192.168.0.1 , 2001::192:168:0:1/64
On Ex8200VC, V100 - 10.0.0.1 , 2000::1
OSPFv2 and OSPFv3 is running on vlan100

1) Failover scenario on the EX4200 VC: Mastership Failover on the EX4200-VC, does not withdraw OSPF route from the EX8200 VC(Running Junos 11.4R5.5)

2) Restarting routing on the EX4200VC brings OSPF neighborship down but it does not withdraw OSPF route from the EX8200 VC. This behavior has been confirmed for OSPFv2 and OSPFv3.

- Restated routing on the EX4200VC with a continuous ping to the lo0 interface, OSPF neighborship goes down but it does not withdraw OSPF route.
- No ping loss was observed on the switch
