Description

This article lists the 3G USB modem support available for SRX100, SRX110, and SRX210.

Symptoms

  • 3G USB Modems are supported on SRX110 beginning with Junos OS 11.2R3
  • 3G USB Modems are supported on SRX100 and SRX210 beginning with Junos OS 12.1R1
  • This article lists 3G USB Modems compatible with these devices

Solution

3G USB modems, for use as a WAN port, are supported on SRX100, SRX110, and SRX210 beginning with Junos OS 12.1.  However, not all 3G USB modems are compatible.  Only Sierra Wireless modems are compatible (Junos OS 12.1 includes Sierra Wireless 3G USB modem drivers).  The current drivers support the following Sierra Wireless 3G USB modems:

  • C888
  • 308
  • 312u
  • 313u
  • 319u
  • 320u

Notes:

  1. The 320u modem support on SRX100, SRX110 , SRX210 is only from Junos OS 12.1R4 and 12.1X44D10.

  2. The 320u is supported up to download speeds of 6 mbit/sec, and upload speeds of 4 mbit/sec.
