Is ethernet switching and configuration of the switching fabric link on SRX-GP-2XE-SFPP-TX ( 2-port 10GbE SFP+ / 10GbE Base-T Copper XPIM ) supported?
This article provides information about the support extended for ethernet switching and switching fabric link (swfab) on SRX-GP-2XE-SFPP-TX (2-port 10GbE SFP+ / 10GbE Base-T Copper XPIM).
Ethernet switching is not supported on SRX-GP-2XE-SFPP-TX cards. This implies that any configuration, which requires that family ethernet-switching be configured, is not supported on these interfaces. For example, configuring the switching fabric interface (swfab). Ethernet-switching in chassis cluster is supported on SRX from 11.1. To ensure that Layer 2 switching works seamlessly across chassis cluster nodes, a dedicated physical link to connect the nodes is required. This type of link is termed as a switching fabric interface (swfab). The configuration of swfab on SRX-GP-2XE-SFPP-TX will not work and is not supported. If it is configured on the interfaces of XPIM, you will see the ethernet switching status as down:
