This article explains the reason for receiving the following error messages: 

root@srx# commit check
error: Too many web filtering profiles
error: configuration check-out failed

Symptoms

On an SRX device, seeing commit failures if there are more than 50 web-filtering profiles. 

root@srx# commit check
error: Too many web filtering profiles
error: configuration check-out failed

Solution

This is the current limit on web-filtering profiles. All current supported SRX platforms (non-EOL platforms) are limited to 50 customer configured profiles per web-filtering type.

This limit applies to the following web-filtering profile types:

  • juniper-enhanced
  • websense-redirect
  • juniper-local
