This article describes the issue of either side of the link being down, when Auto-Negotiation is disabled for a GE interface and MX APDC is rebooted.

With MX ADPC, when auto-negotiation is disabled for a GE interface and it is rebooted, the following scenarios may occur:

• The GE interface may remain down and the remote end will be up.
• The GE interface may be up and the other end may remain down.

Currently there is no solution for this issue. When MX ADPC is rebooted, the ADPC may send out the Auto-Negotiation data when the Auto-Negotiation configuration is explicitly disabled. This is due to the CLI configuration not being propagated, when ADPCs are in the initialization stage and all the components behave as per their default settings.

This behavior has been observed with:

• APDC 40*1GE
• ADPC 20*1GE + 2*10G
