This article describes the Failed to send template refresh packet and Failed to send the option refresh packet messages generated when the flow server is unreachable.
Failed to send template refresh packet
Failed to send the option refresh packet
When inline Jflow is configured, the following messages are generated as the MIC comes up:
May 1 11:16:21.563 Linguine tfeb0 INLINE-JFLOW-DATA-TMPL_REFRESH: Failed to send template refresh packet May 1 11:16:21.564 Linguine tfeb0 INLINE-JFLOW-OPTION-TMPL-REFRESH: Failed to send the option refresh packet
When the MIC starts up, the Jflow instance will attempt to send refresh packets to the flow server. This can occur before there is a route to the collector, so the messages are generated.
If these messages are noticed at bootup, they can be ignored; the instance will try again. If these messages are seen during normal operation, ensure that there is a route to the IP (which is configured for flow-server ) and that the server is reachable.
