This article provides information about the default JSRX values for sending DHCP Discover messages.
If you configure the JSRX interface to obtain the IP from DHCP, that is as a DHCP client, then only four DHCP Discover messages can be sent. Within these four messages, if no response is received from any DHCP server, no more discover messages can be sent. The default values are as follows:
The default value for retransmission-attempt is 4.
The default value for retransmission-interval is 4 seconds.
These values can be changed. For more information, refer to KB23712 - [SRX] How to Change the DHCP retransmission-attempt and retransmission-interval values [juniper.net] .
