This article describes the issue of the following syslog message being logged, when committing a configuration:

kernel: PFE not configured, Juniper syscall not available

• You may, from time to time, see these messages on EX8200 series devices.
• This message does not signify an error condition in the operation of the switch, of which the customers need to take notice.
• However, this message may seem to customers that there is some critical error on PFE operations, which may also produce unnecessary load on JTAC.

This is an extraneous developer debugging log message, which leaked into production and is going to be removed.

Upgrade to 11.3R3, 11.4R1, 12.1R1 or later, or just ignore this message.
