This article describes the issue of the ' The number of source NAT pools exceeds limit of 0 ' commit error being generated when trying to configure source NAT.

Symptoms

When configuring a simple source NAT on SRX240DC, the following commit error is generated:

The number of source NAT pools exceeds limit of 0

Solution

This is a specific issue with the DC Power version of SRX-240 devices; it does not occur when using the AC power version of SRX-240.  This issue has been addressed in Junos release 10.4R8 and all subsequent R releases of 10.4. It does not occur on Junos release 11.2 or higher versions.  If on Junos release 11.1, it is recommended to upgrade to release 11.2 or later.
