Description

This article describes the issue of 'show system license' generating 'Unknown feature' in its output, when the Enhanced Webfiltering License is loaded on the device.


Symptoms

  •  Purchased Enhanced Webfiltering license.
  • Installed Enhanced Webfiltering license (SRXxxx-W-EWF) but show system license output shows Unknown feature .

Solution

 

 Enhanced Webfiltering is a new feature introduced in JUNOS 11.4R1.  However, when you try to load the EWF license onto a device that runs any version of Junos below 11.4, show system license displays Unknown Feature in its output.  Junos 11.4R1 or higher is required to run EWF.

If your device is running on a Junos version below 11.4, make sure to obtain the legacy SurfControl license; which is identified by the WF license.

For example:

  • Surfcontrol License for SRX 100 - SRX100-W-WF

  • Enhanced Webfiltering License for SRX100 - SRX100-W-EWF
