Description

This article describes the issue of Multicast traffic on SRX with sampling/J-Flow.


Symptoms

  • Multicast traffic not seen going out towards RP with Multicast configured on SRX in HA.
  • PIM traces show PIM JOIN message, but RP Router does not see any PIM packets coming in from the SRX.
  • Sampling is configured on the SRX Reth0 interface, which is the interface configured for PIM communication.

Solution

Sampling is not supported with Multicast & HA. It must be removed for Multicast to work properly.
