Description

This article highlights the Command Line Interface (CLI) differences between High End and Branch SRX devices, with respect to Class of Service (CoS).

Symptoms

On SRX Branch, it is observed that there are three extra options for CoS, under [edit firewall policer testpolicer then] as shown below:

681

As compared to SRX High-End, where there are no such options, available under [edit firewall policer testpolicer then] :

681

Similarly, under [edit interface ge-0/0/0 unit 0 family inet] , the Policer option is available on SRX Branch:

ge-0/0/0 unit 0 family inet

As compared to SRX High-End, where there is no such CoS option under [edit interfaces ge-0/0/0 unit 0 family inet] :

ge-0/0/0 unit 0 family inet
ge-0/0/0 unit 0 family inet alt

Solution

On SRX1000, SRX3000, and SRX5000 platforms, the Policer does not support actions of Forwarding Class and Loss Priority. There is no difference between SRX1000 and SRX3000/SRX5000 in terms of Policer action.
