Description

This article provides a simple checklist for verifying the LAG between an EX Switch and Broadcom adapter using LACP protocol.  Basic things to check prior to contacting support.

Symptoms

When the LAG is enabled between an EX Switch and Broadcom adapter with LACP the link doesn't come up.  What should I check for?

Solution

Check the following
  • Verify that the cabling is correct as the numbering in windows does not always correspond to the numbering on the machine
  • Update to the latest driver from Broadcom's site.
  • Set the EX Switch to Active LACP
  • Set the Broadcom Team to 802.3ad mode
  • Verify correct connection on EX Switch using the CLI command:    "show lacp interfaces ae <x> "    (x equals ae number)
  • ping from Server to confirm LAG is up and working
