Behavior of a link when configuring a link aggregation between an EX Switch and a virtual machine and an EX Switch and a normal server can be different. When configuring with a virtual server we need to consider a few options or features available. When configuring Link aggregation between an EX Switch and an ESX, we might encounter a few issues like link flap or duplicate packets generated between them. This article helps us in avoiding some of these issues.
In ESX the only load balancing option for Distributed Switch that can be used with Link aggregation is IP HASH. * Do not use beacon probing with IP HASH load balancing. * Do not configure standby uplinks with IP HASH load balancing.
