This article describes an upgrade from that did not complete automatically because an incorrect software image was used.
The upgrade does not complete automatically, despite specifying the reboot option. A root login to the Linux host console and a manual reboot are required to bring Junos OS into operation.
The following log identifies the incorrect package used:
mgd: UI_CMDLINE_READ_LINE: User 'user', command 'request system software add /var/tmp/jinstall-host9-qfx-5e-ng-x86-64-21.4R3-S10.13-secure-signed.tgz reboot '
Then switch swill get stuck on blind mode which a power cycle is required to recover it
Wind River Linux OVP 9.0.0.26 intel-x86-64 ttyS0 intel-x86-64 login: Consoles: serial port BIOS drive C: is disk0 BIOS drive D: is disk1 BIOS drive E: is disk2 BIOS drive F: is disk3 BIOS 639kB/3144508kB available memory

>show version
2.Obtain jinstall-host-qfx-5e-x86-64-21.4R3-S10.13-secure-signed.tgz, copy it to /var/tmp, and verify its checksum:
>file checksum md5 /var/tmp/jinstall-host-qfx-5e-x86-64-21.4R3-S10.13-secure-signed.tgz
3.During the maintenance window, install the correct package:
>request system software add /var/tmp/jinstall-host-qfx-5e-x86-64-21.4R3-S10.13-secure-signed.tgz reboot
4.After the switch reboots, run show version and confirm that expected Junos version is running.
