The EX-series EX 3200 fixed configuration and EX 4200 virtual-chassis switches support hot swappable fan modules.

Both the fixed-configuration and virtual-chassis switches support hot-swappable, field-replaceable fan modules. 

The fixed-configuration switch supports a blower tray with a single blower. The entire fan tray can be replaced upon failure.

The virtual-chassis switches support a hot-swappable fan tray with redundant blowers. The virtual-chassis fan tray consists of three independent blowers. The switch can withstand the failure of a single blower and continue operating at ambient temperatures ranging from 0 to 40 degrees centigrade. Should the single blower in the fixed-configuration fan tray or any one of the blowers in the virtual-chassis fan tray fail, it generates an alarm so the operations team knows to replace the fan tray with an off-the-shelf spare.
