SRX device stops sending syslog messages to an external syslog server after a reboot. Syslog forwarding resumes only after a configuration commit is performed.

- Syslog messages are successfully sent to the external syslog server during normal operation.

- After rebooting the SRX device, the external syslog server stops receiving logs.

- No configuration changes are required to recover the functionality.

- Performing any configuration commit immediately restores syslog forwarding.

- Rebooting the device again causes the issue to reoccur.

Upgrade the device to a Junos release that contains the fix:

- Junos 23.4R2-S6 and later

- Junos 24.4R2-S3 and later

- Junos 25.2R2 and later

- Junos 25.3R1 and later

- Junos 25.4R1 and later

Workaround:

Perform a configuration commit or dummy commit after each reboot to restore syslog forwarding until the device is upgraded to a fixed release.
