Customers may attempt to connect 25‑Gigabit SFP (SFP‑25G) transceivers to EX4600 or QFX5100 switches. These platforms do not support 25G optics, and as a result, the interfaces will not come up.

This is expected behavior based on the hardware design and documented compatibility guidelines.

• Interfaces where SFP‑25G modules are inserted remain in a down state.
• Attempts to configure or enable the port do not establish connectivity.
• No traffic passes through the interface.

• The EX4600 and QFX5100 platforms are designed to support 1G, 10G, and in some cases 40G transceivers. Therefore, SFP‑25G modules may not be recognized and cannot establish a link.
• Use only transceivers that are listed as supported for EX4600 and QFX5100 in the Juniper Networks Pathfinder Hardware Compatibility Tool.=
