Description

A SmartWall ONE platform license fails to apply to the Cloud Management System (CMS) with an error indicating that the license is not valid for the installation.

This issue typically arises due to a mismatch between the license and the target CMS instance or platform.

Symptoms

License application fails for SmartWall ONE platform.

Error message displayed:

The license is not valid for this installation of CMS

SWA (SmartWall Analytics) or platform license does not activate.

Solution

This error indicates that the license does not match the CMS instance where it is being applied. Verify the following:

CMS UUID Mismatch

    • Ensure the license was generated using the correct CMS UUID.
    • If the CMS was rebuilt, migrated, or replaced, the UUID may have changed, requiring a new license.

Incorrect Product or Version

Confirm the license corresponds to the correct platform:

    • SmartWall ONE licenses are not compatible with SmartWall TDD (v11.7.x).
    • Verify that the license matches the intended product and software version.

Regenerate License if Needed

If any mismatch is identified, regenerate the license using:

    • The correct CMS UUID
    • The correct product type (SmartWall ONE vs SmartWall TDD)

Reapply License

    • After validating the above, reapply the updated license to the CMS.

Note: Licensing is tightly bound to the CMS identity and platform type. Always ensure accuracy when generating licenses to avoid application failures.
