Some services are not working due to connection limitation. Customer cannot perform NSM polling and Tshift with error: Polling failed for device:

Device is not safe to run this operation: Device has too many open connections

Some services are not working due to connection limitation and the QFX5100 switch is showing the following error:

Polling failed for device: hostname, failure reason: EndoOperationException: <DeviceSafetyCheckFailedException(message=\"Device is not safe to run this operation: Device has too many open connections; (device_safety_check_type='CPU_IDLE', device_healthy=True)(device_safety_check_type='CONNECTION_COUNT', device_healthy=False)\")>

When there are so many active connections that are stuck, it is possible that those sessions may take part of the system memory and system processes and for that reason, it will limit other actions to be performed. Once the system memory / system processes are reestablished, the issue will be resolved.

Recommendations:

1. Reduce the active sessions to the device when not needed.

2. If the sessions are stuck, proceed to manually close them.

3. If possible, you may configure the sessions to expire after a specific amount of time or limit it as well.
