When attempting to override the WAN link configuration at the device level in Mist for an SRX WAN Edge device, the VLAN ID (VLAN tag) field appears greyed out and cannot be edited, even after selecting the Override option

• VLAN ID field is greyed out in WAN interface configuration
• Unable to type or modify the VLAN tag
• Issue persists even after enabling device-level override

The VLAN ID field is greyed out because device-level overrides inherit the WAN interface settings from the Organization’s WAN Edge Template.

If the WAN interface is defined in the template, VLAN tagging cannot be modified directly at the site or device level.

Mist does not allow editing VLAN tags for WAN interfaces that are template-controlled.

To change the VLAN ID for the WAN interface, follow the steps below:

• Clone the existing WAN Edge Template
• Navigate to Organization → WAN Edge Templates
• Clone the template currently applied to the site
• Modify the VLAN ID in the cloned template
• Edit the WAN interface in the cloned template
• Update the required VLAN ID
• Apply the new template to the site
• Assign the modified template to the affected site
• Verify WAN connectivity after change
