This article helps to explain the cause and fix for issue with BMP Config not pushed to device post onboarding.

Testing a brownfield configuration and after onboarding the device BMP configuration doesn't get pushed.

If a customer/user intends to use RBOT BMP on this router, BMP will not come up unless the BGP protocol is configured.

We noticed that the group configuration pushed by RoutingBot does not include a protocols bgp statement, it relies on the user to preconfigure BGP.

Therefore, if a customer expects to use this router for RBOT BMP, BGP must already be configured.

Lab Results :: Enabled a dummy protocol bgp neighbor statement , collected device_collection and republished NIP. RBOT bmp groups is now pushed to the routers.
