Description
On Linux-based JUNOS EVO platforms like ACX, PTX, and MX, incoming Router Alert on the management interface may disrupt traffic on this network by changing the kernel routing table.
It is expected that the Linux kernel should not process RA messages.
Symptoms
JUNOS EVO platform running a release prior to 24.2 may process an incoming inet6 router alert on the management interface, causing disruption to management traffic.
Solution
JUNOS EVO has been updated to ignore Router Alerts on the management interface. The change is committed in:
22.2R3-S7+
22.4R3-S1+
23.4R2+
24.1R1+
