Description

When the Terahop 1F1Q1A QSFP‑100GBASE‑SR4 optic is used on SRX4700 PIC0 or PIC1 ports 1–5, the link does not come up.

This optic is End‑of‑Life (EOL) and may not be compatible with current SRX4700 hardware requirements.

Symptoms

The SRX4700 detects the optic under hardware inventory, but the interface stays link‑down on:

  • PIC0: ports 1–5
  • PIC1: ports 1–5

Cabling is verified good.

Other SR4 optics operate normally on the same ports.

Observed Behavior:

OpticStatus
Terahop 1F1Q1A (EOL)❌ Link Down
Terahop 1F2Q1A✔ Link Up
Finisar 1A3Q1A✔ Link Up
CIG 2J1Q1A (EOL)❌ Not Supported / Not Recommended

Cause:

The Terahop 1F1Q1A optic is an EOL module, and older optical components may not meet compatibility requirements for newer hardware platforms such as the SRX4700.

As a result, the interface does not establish a 100G SR4 link.

Solution

Replace the EOL optic with a supported, active QSFP‑100GBASE‑SR4 module.

  • Terahop 1F2Q1A
  • Finisar 1A3Q1A

These optics successfully bring the link up on both PIC0 and PIC1.

Note:

  • Avoid using EOL optics on SRX4700.
  • Use active, supported QSFP‑100GBASE‑SR4 modules for reliable operation.
