Description

ON multiple ACX7100-32C, ae1 is configured as a bundle using ports 12 and 13 :

set interfaces et-0/0/12 description "member port of lag ae1"
set interfaces et-0/0/12 ether-options 802.3ad ae1
set interfaces et-0/0/13 description "member port of lag ae1"
set interfaces et-0/0/13 ether-options 802.3ad ae1

The problem is when only port 12 is functional within the multimember bundle ( i.e et-0/0/13) is failed, no traffic is
transmitted across the bundle by the ACX. To clarify the following occurs

With both links ( et-0/0/12 and et-0/0/13) active no • issue is reported.
• With Port 12 disabled/failed leaving only port 13 working, no issue is reported.
If port 13 fails or is disabled, leaving only port 12 active, then no traffic is transmitted out of port 12 and
forwarding fails.

• If Port 13 is removed from the bundle entirely, leaving only port 12 as part of ae1 no issue is reported.
i.e the problem only occurs on port 12, If port 13 is also part of the bundle. Note this is has been seen across multiple

ACX routers and therefore is not a single HW/Fibre fault, but appears to be a defect.

Please refer to the detailed problem description contained in the PDF file. RSI, var logs and BCM debugs will be attached to the case.

Solution

Fix for this issue is planned in release : evo:26.2R1-EVO

Root cause:

When HQOS is enabled on AE and TCP is configured on AE IFLs, each member of AE is allocated with Virtual System Port (VSP).
When member which is disabled is part of AE, AE IFL's VSPs for that member also needs to be disabled. These were enabled by default.
