Description

Users observe that NTP configuration is being pushed daily on MIST WAN Edge devices.

Solution

When NTP is configured using FQDN (Fully Qualified Domain Name), MIST periodically resolves the FQDN to its corresponding IP addresses. Each time the resolution occurs, the system pushes the updated IPs to the WAN Edge device. This is expected behavior in MIST.

Workaround:

  • If this behavior is acceptable, no action is required.
  • If you want to avoid frequent configuration pushes, configure NTP using static IP addresses instead of FQDN.
