• When the customer captures traffic on the switch interface via the Mist portal, the capture includes packets that belong to the switch’s Routing Engine (RE) as well and not just the traffic transmitted or received on that specific switch port.
• The fault can be recreated and the replication steps are outlined below:
• On an EX4400 switches, I connected two IXIA ports and one configured to generate ARP traffic and the other to perform packet captures.
• The two ports were placed in different VLANs. Under normal circumstances, broadcast traffic received on interface one interface (eg VLAN 10) should not appear on an interface part of another vlan (eg VLAN 20), as they belong to separate broadcast domains.
• However, when the same capture is enabled via mist for the on one interface, You can see ARP/broadcast traffic that is not destined for this Layer 2 domain. This is incorrect or not an expected behaviour.

This issue has been resolved in software versions junos:24.2R2, junos:24.3R1, junos:24.4R1, and later.
