The customer had multiple RE0 reboots. Backup RE is active
1) Last reboot reason for RE0: 0x2000:hypervisor reboot
2) No clear logs of events or triggers for the reboot:
-re0 eventd[18375]: %SYSLOG-5-SYSTEM_ABNORMAL_SHUTDOWN: System abnormally shut down
-re0 eventd[18375]: %SYSLOG-5-SYSTEM_OPERATIONAL: System is operational
3) VMhost logs repetitive reboots with no triggers or events:
T01:12:26.582669+00:00 re0 vehostd: main: delete /var/platf_config.xml
T01:12:26.584801+00:00 re0 vehostd[3999]: main: /etc/vehostd/jnpr.conf processing configuration file
T01:12:26.607364+00:00 re0 vehostd[4002]: vehostd_resource_db_open: Opening Resource DB
T01:12:26.608003+00:00 re0 vehostd[4002]: vehostd_alive_init: Unable to obtain information from configuration. Ignore and proceeding...
T01:12:26.608108+00:00 re0 vehostd[4002]: vehostd_alive_init: config: (null)
T01:12:26.612092+00:00 re0 vehostd[4002]: vjunos_init: Booting in default mode
This is RE0 hardware issue and needs to be replaced.
Recommendation:
After swapping RE0, it needs to be kept as Backup-RE for a week and monitored.
If it continues to reboot, it's better to shift the focus to the CB and check if there are any issues with that.
