Issue: highway process crash is seen while updating MTU of SSR interfaces


Error seen is "InvalidFormatConfigException".

 

[HWMC|DMSM] ERROR (deviceManagerTP) Device StateMachine Error: InvalidFormatConfigException: Invalid Format: invalid format for source: <empty>

 

"InvalidFormatConfigException" throws the state machine into an error state and the device itself stops being serviced, resulting in a lockup detection and subsequent controlled highway process crash/restart.

Symptoms

highway process crash is seen while updating MTU of SSR interfaces.

Solution

This is a bug and is seen in scenarios where adjacencies are configured with FQDNs and is fixed in SSR release 6.2.10.
