  • Do QFX5130 line of switches support 128-way ECMP, despite being part of the QFX5K series?

Solution

From day-1 for QFX5k PFE, the maximum s/w limit for ECMP is defined as 64. Cli's are generic in juniper and not device specific. Even if it is committed as 32 or 128, at hardware level it will be always 64. There is no support to change the value dynamically on QFX5k, KB95085 [juniper.net].

However, the QFX5130 line of switches officially support 128-way ECMP, despite being part of the QFX5K series. The datasheet specifies that it supports 128-way ECMP:
