This article explains the procedure to fix if the managed device of Junos Space fails to upgrade.

You may observe the following error during the upgrade

Image [23.4R2-S5.6] to be deployed :junos-vmhost-install-mx-x86-64-23.4R2-S5.6.tgz.

Gathered Routing Engine Information.

Master RE : re0, backup RE : re1.

Completed copying file to the device.

Completed copying file to the backup RE.

Package installed in device Backup RE.

Failed to execute RPC request-vmhost-reboot-backup in 0.692 seconds.

Uncommitted changes are present in Device(s). Please perform "rollback" or "commit" in Device(s).

Also use "request system reboot" command to complete the pending installation.

1. Please perform to make sure to perform a commit on the device end before proceeding with the upgrade of the managed device from Junos Space.

2. If the issue persists, modify the device's authentication from Space UI to be the root user and then perform the upgrade: Modifying the Authentication Mode on the Devices.
