Description

Using SSR Wan Assurance

Redundant interface on LAN (active only on one node

2 WAN links, WAN1 connected to ha node0 WAN2 connected to ha node1

WAN traffic shaping configured in ordered WAN1, WAN2

Why is WAN traffic seen on both SSR routers

Solution

Default configuration of SSR is to use non revertible failover.

When the WAN1 link is unavailable, traffic will use WAN2 connected to SSR ha node1, LAN traffic remains on node0 and flows through the SSR fabric link.

When WAN1 link is available again, new traffic sessions will use WAN1, but sessions that started or transitioned to use WAN2 will remain on WAN2 until they end.

Ordered—Starts with a specified path and fails over to backup path(s) when needed.

The Failover behavior is bound to the Applications, Traffic type

Each Application in Application policy control the failover behavior "Default" which is "failover" (which does not revert once link is restored)
