Description

JSC 24.4.14.00 or newer gives "Invalid vpn_connection_token value" error connecting to the SRX.

 

 

 

Symptoms

JSC 24.4.14 or newer gives "Invalid vpn_connection_token value" error connecting to the SRX with 23.x junos release.

Below snippets from JSC logs on the SRX: 
Configuration download: JuniperLogin: Start with auth-method password
Configuration download: JuniperLogin: Invalid vpn_connection_token value
ERROR - Configuration download: JuniperLogin: Invalid vpn_connection_token value
ERROR - Configuration download: Finished with error -> JuniperLogin: Invalid vpn_connection_token value
Configuration download: JuniperLogin: Login succeeded
MONITOR: LMC - Connection failed, logon time expired

Solution

During connection attempt, the user noticed the following error message resulting in failed login attempt:
"Invalid vpn_connection_token value". 
The issue occurs because Trusted Network Detection (TND) is not supported in the 23.X junos release.

The issue is fixed in junos:23.2R1 junos:23.4R2-S4 junos:24.2R2
