1. About the Upgrade Package:

The "Paragon Automation Setup" package for Release 24.1, which we can download, looks like a full installation file. It seems to be for a new, clean installation. There is nothing that talks about upgrading from 23.x to 24.1

Ans: The upgrade to Paragon 24.1 comprises of two steps.

• Take a backup of the 23.x setup using the Step 3 in the link mentioned above.
• Create a freshly installed cluster for 24.1 with the same number of nodes as were with the 23.x setup.
• This backup from 23.x will be restored on a fresh installation of 24.1 to restore the data on 24.1 and hence the upgrade will complete.

2. Upgrade on Current System vs. New System:

Ans: The upgrade will happen between 2 different clusters setup - one would be the old Paragon 23.x setup from where the backup would be taken and the second would be the freshly installed 24.1 cluster. The backup once restored on the 24.1 cluster will restore all the config on the setup.
