Product Affected

These issues affect all versions of Juniper Cloud-Native Router.
Critical

CVSS: v3.1: 9.8 (CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H)

Problem

Multiple vulnerabilities have been resolved in Juniper Networks Juniper Cloud-Native Router (JCNR) by updating third-party software included with Cloud-Native Router software.

These issues affect Juniper Networks Cloud-Native Router software versions before 26.2.

Important security issues resolved include:

CVECVSSSummary
CVE-2024-525339.8 (CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H)gio/gsocks4aproxy.c in GNOME GLib before 2.82.1 has an off-by-one error and resultant buffer overflow because SOCKS4_CONN_MSG_LEN is not sufficient for a trailing '\0' character.
CVE-2024-72646.5 (CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H)libcurl's ASN1 parser code has the `GTime2str()` function, used for parsing an ASN.1 Generalized Time field. If given an syntactically incorrect field, the parser might end up using -1 for the length of the *time fraction*, leading to a `strlen()` getting performed on a pointer to a heap buffer area that is not (purposely) null terminated. This flaw most likely leads to a crash, but can also lead to heap contents getting returned to the application when [CURLINFO_CERTINFO](https://curl.se/libcurl/c/CURLINFO_CERTINFO.html) is used.
CVE-2024-247895.5 (CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:H/A:N)The archive/zip package's handling of certain types of invalid zip files differs from the behavior of most zip implementations. This misalignment could be exploited to create an zip file with contents that vary depending on the implementation reading the file. The archive/zip package now rejects files containing these errors.
CVE-2023-22536.5 (CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H)A flaw was found in the `/v2/_catalog` endpoint in distribution/distribution, which accepts a parameter to control the maximum number of records returned (query string: `n`). This vulnerability allows a malicious user to submit an unreasonably large value for `n,` causing the allocation of a massive string array, possibly causing a denial of service through excessive use of memory.

Juniper SIRT is not aware of any malicious exploitation of this vulnerability.

These issues were discovered by a third-party upstream provider.

Solution

The following software releases have been updated to resolve these specific issues: Juniper Cloud-Native Router 26.2 and all subsequent releases.

These issues are being tracked as JCNR-11975, JCNR-11974, JCNR-11970 and JCNR-11966 which are visible on the Customer Support website.

Note: Juniper SIRT's policy is not to evaluate releases which are beyond End of Engineering (EOE) or End of Life (EOL).
