An Improper Input Validation weakness allows a malicious local attacker to elevate their permissions to take control of other portions of the NFX platform they should not be able to access, and execute commands outside their authorized scope of control.

This leads to the attacker being able to take control of the entire system.

This issue affects:

Juniper Networks Junos OS versions prior to 18.2R1 on NFX Series.

Juniper SIRT is not aware of any malicious exploitation of this vulnerability.

This issue was found during internal product security testing or research.

This issue has been assigned CVE-2019-0070 .

The following software releases have been updated to resolve this specific issue: Junos OS 18.2R1 and all subsequent releases on NFX Series.

This issue is being tracked as PR 1341371 which is visible on the Customer Support website.
