Problem

Multiple vulnerabilities have been resolved in the Juniper Secure Analytics (JSA) 7.3.2 Patch 1 release by fixing the vulnerabilities and updating the third party software packages included with JSA.

CVE-2018-1729 5.3 ( CVSS:3.0/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:N/A:N ) Juniper JSA 7.3 discloses sensitive information to unauthorized users. The information can be used to mount further attacks on the system.
CVE-2018-1060 7.5 ( CVSS:3.0/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H ) python before versions 2.7.15, 3.4.9, 3.5.6rc1, 3.6.5rc1 and 3.7.0 is vulnerable to catastrophic backtracking in pop3lib's apop() method. An attacker could use this flaw to cause denial of service.
CVE-2018-1061 7.5 ( CVSS:3.0/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H ) python before versions 2.7.15, 3.4.9, 3.5.6rc1, 3.6.5rc1 and 3.7.0 is vulnerable to catastrophic backtracking in the difflib.IS_LINE_JUNK method. An attacker could use this flaw to cause denial of service.
CVE-2018-11237 7.8 ( CVSS:3.0/AV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H ) An AVX-512-optimized implementation of the mempcpy function in the GNU C Library (aka glibc or libc6) 2.27 and earlier may write data beyond the target buffer, leading to a buffer overflow in __mempcpy_avx512_no_vzeroupper.
CVE-2018-0739 6.5 ( CVSS:3.0/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H ) Constructed ASN.1 types with a recursive definition (such as can be found in PKCS7) could eventually exceed the stack given malicious input with excessive recursion. This could result in a Denial Of Service attack. There are no such structures used within SSL/TLS that come from untrusted sources so this is considered safe. Fixed in OpenSSL 1.1.0h (Affected 1.1.0-1.1.0g). Fixed in OpenSSL 1.0.2o (Affected 1.0.2b-1.0.2n).
CVE-2018-0732 7.5 ( CVSS:3.0/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H ) During key agreement in a TLS handshake using a DH(E) based ciphersuite a malicious server can send a very large prime value to the client. This will cause the client to spend an unreasonably long period of time generating a key for this prime resulting in a hang until the client has finished. This could be exploited in a Denial Of Service attack. Fixed in OpenSSL 1.1.0i-dev (Affected 1.1.0-1.1.0h). Fixed in OpenSSL 1.0.2p-dev (Affected 1.0.2-1.0.2o).

 

Solution

The issues listed above have been resolved in JSA: 7.3.2 Patch 1, and all subsequent releases.

Workaround

There are no known workarounds for this issue, however, limiting access to only trusted administrators from trusted administrative networks or hosts would minimize the risk.
