Multiple vulnerabilities are addressed in the ISC BIND software included with Junos for SRX Series devices.
These issues only affects SRX devices where DNS proxy service has been configured under the [ system services dns dns-proxy ] stanza. This service is not enabled by default.
system services dns dns-proxy
These issues do not affect other Junos OS based devices as they do not have BIND DNS server feature.
Juniper SIRT is not aware of any malicious exploitation of these issues.
The following software releases have been updated to resolve this specific issue:12.1X46-D76, 12.3X48-D70, 15.1X49-D140, 17.4R2 (pending release), 18.1R2, 18.2R1, and all subsequent releases.
Junos OS 18.2X75-D5 and subsequent releases also contain the updated ISC BIND libraries, however these releases are unaffected.
A service release (SR) for 17.3 on SRX is pending.
These issues are being tracked as PR 1343613 which is visible on the Customer Support website.
Note: Juniper SIRT's policy is not to evaluate releases which are beyond End of Engineering (EOE) or End of Life (EOL).
