A remote attacker may exploit a flaw in the J-Web service to perform a denial of service attack against the SRX5000-Series causing the system to enter debug prompt. This issue was introduced in Junos OS 15.1X49-D10 and does not affect prior versions of Junos OS. This issue is assigned CVE-2014-6451.
The following software releases have been updated to resolve this specific issue: Junos OS 15.1X49-D15 and all subsequent releases. This issue was found during internal product security testing. Juniper SIRT is not aware of any malicious exploitation of this vulnerability. No other Juniper Networks products or platforms are affected by this issue. Disable J-Web services on SRX5000-Series. Use access lists or firewall filters to limit access to the SRX administrative ports only from trusted hosts. Restrict access to only highly trusted administrators.
